1951 - 1956      Studies of Chemistry at the Universities of Munich, Germany and Innsbruck, Austria.

1956 to present      Own consulting office as an independent chemist.
Specific fields: colloid chemistry, gelatin, animal glues, collagen.

Own publishing house for documentation; editor and publisher of the monthly Klebstoff – Dokumentum (Adhesive Documentum); monographs, brochures.

1958 – 1965      Close cooperation with many industries for the introduction of contact adhesives and glues in the European market; licensing of know-how.

1959 – 1962      Development and application of the first green concrete/old concrete bonding in Europe using epoxy resins in cooperation with the City of Munich.
This technology has been used in the construction of the bridge across the channel of Maracaibo/ Venezuela in 1963.

1960 – 1965 Development of polysulfide sealants (THIOKOL).

1965 – 1972 Development of the hot melt adhesives-market in Europe using own know-how based on EVA, polyester and polyamide for

a) Wood industry, e.g. edge bonding
b) Packaging industry
c) Pressure sensitive adhesive.

1966 – 1972 Development of proprietary one component moisture-curing
silicone rubber sealants.

1969 – 1974 Development of proprietary anaerobic adhesive patents.

1969 – 1974 Development of moisture curing one component PUR adhesives and sealants for the direct glazing of windshields in the automotive industry.

1970 – 1980 Development of micro encapsulation technology and formulated products for the construction and mining industries (chemical anchors) including 3 patents in 14 countries.

1976 – 1978 Development of a continuous in-line/off-line hot melt application
technology with BUSS Ltd., Basel/Switzerland.

1976 – 1981 Development of new graft polymers in cooperation with ATOCHEM, France, for adhesives and adhesive tapes.
Design and installation of an adhesive research and development laboratory for ATOCHEM.

1978 Formed a partnership in Philadelphia with Dr. Helmut Weldes, former vice president of the PQ Corp., and a member of the US Academy of Science

1978 to present: Development of radiation curable adhesives and silicone release coating materials, especially for EB and UV including pressure sensitive adhesive.

1979 Initiator and founding member of the International Bonding Technology Short Courses (Internationale Klebtechnik-Seminare)

1980 Founding member of the German Engineer Association’s Specification “Committee for “Bonding Technology” (VDI Fachausschuß “Verbindungstechnik”), Düsseldorf, Germany.

1980 – 1981 Designing and planning of a modern gelatine manufacturing company in Kayseri, Turkey, of the KEMSAN Kayseri Meat-By-Products and Magarine Industry & Co. within the scope of a development program of the German gouvernment

1980 – 1985 Development of microencapsulated, one component preapplied adhesives for bolts and screws (high and low temperature resistant) including own patents.

1985 Moderator and chairman of the International Gelatin Symposium of the Chinese Gelatine Association, Suzhou, May 22 - 28, 1985

1985 – 1990

Development of radiation curable adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesive.

Development of new adhesive and hydrophobic materials including plasticizers, release coatings, waterproofing compounds, sealants, etc..

1987 to present Development of radiation curable hot melts, solvent less and monomer free.

1990 to present Geopolymeric and/or silicate compounds and compositions in inorganic adhesives and chemical anchors for construction purposes. Dual curable adhesive compositions.

1990 – 1992 Designing, planning and starting-up of a gelatine manufacturing company in Grojec, Poland

since 1997 Joined and formed Hinterwaldner Consulting & Partner (GbR) Munich, Germany as managing partner

Consulting Services:    Global Partnership and network of consulting chemists and business economists with the key focus in consulting in raw materials, production, application and marketing, development of new, innovative products and supply of product and process know-how on a worldwide basis among others in adhesives, sealants, glues, tapes, bonding technology, chemical nanotechnology, polymer chemistry and cosmetics and personal care products and detergents as well as certified organic products.

1994 to present Development of nanocomposites as raw materials for novel and innovative adhesives, sealants and coatings including own patents.

1997 to present Close cooperation with many industries for the introduction and business development of customer-orientated integral concepts products and applications in the different worldwide markets; licensing of know-how.

1999 Initiator and founding member of the European Congress on Adhesives and Sealants Raw Materials STICK!.

 

Patents in 14 industrial countries.

 

More than 200 publications in technical papers in German and English.

 

Moderator and chairman of various international short courses in adhesive,
sealant and coating fields.
